I have a left over 2000 pound cylinder from my FEL when I replaced both cylinders when one blew out and I could not find an exact replacement.

Here is my idea. the left-over cylinder would fit nicely in the same location as the current pain-in-the-@@@@@ 3point toplink, and could be used to make adjustments on-the-run, depending on ground conditions.

I have the links, clearances, and mountings worked out. Here is the question:
What type of hydraulic control box do I use to ensure that I put the cylinder to the right position and it holds it there until I change it.

I am assuming that I need a specific "type name"

Knowing what machine you have could help us give you a better response, but in general you want a spool valve that is:

4-way
3-position
spring return to center
open center
possibly with a power beyond sleeve

You want all these.

Again: If you tell us what machine you have, or fill in your profile we can help better.

I can even point you to the exact valve you should purchase, but not without knowing the GPM specs of your machine.

ok, ok. It is a Kubota D1402 3-cyliner.

We need the tractor model, not the engine...

Also, keep in mind, hydraulic toplinks usually have swivel eyes to provide for some lateral movement.

You will need to be cautious of this as your FEL cylinder probably doesn't have swivel eyes at each end.

here is a pic of a cylinder with swivel eyes.
