Yep. And if you are carrying ballast it's worse.

I thought about making some version of a plumb bob to tell me when the forks are level at any height. That assumes that my target is also level.
The plumb bob might be a 12-20 piece of 3/8 rod, hung from a couple light chain links, and contained within a 4” diameter retaining ring, so it doesn’t swing around wildly and needlessly. When the forks get to nearly level, the plumb bob would start to indicate.
