Just as an aside....."riding the clutch" is not good for the transmission. The slight pressure of your foot causes the clutch to slip ever so slightly (in some cases) wearing at the clutch. Keeping you foot right next to the clutch is a great idea.
-Good to hear nothing is terminal. I did the same thing with my tractor except I did some major damage to my garage with my backhoe sticking way up high and a very narrow pressure point.
