Friend has some cousins (rich) in Fl. he hadn't seen in 12 years, he went to visit and asked me to ride along. One of the days of entertainment included a trip down the coast in the yacht to get lunch. On the way back the captain let me pilot the craft while my friend documented the story with my new digital camera. It was then his turn at the wheel and I took a few shots. To make sure the story, when we got home, was believable, I decided to slip along the rail to the bow and get a shot through the windshield with the wake coming out the back, just to prove it wasn't staged.
The new camera, of course, had to have a new case with belt loop that slipped over my belt and fastened at the bottom with velcro.
After the "documentation photo", I started back around the cabin along the rail, of course we were running flat out and the water was a little rough. I bumped the side of the cabin with the camera and ripped it loose it landed on the narrow walkway, then, kerplunk, in the gulf of Mexico. Sure lost some good photos and now noone believes we were piloting a million dollar yacht.
