Well a while back I bought a little harbor freight trailer I beat it hard so I rebuilt it. And I beat it harder. So I'm re-rebuilding it and making it a dump trailer to use with my jeep for hauling misc junk to the scrap yard (I get crazy stuff, had 900lbs of bolts last week)
So the pictures
What is looked like 3 years ago (soon after purchase, err a couple hours I put some 31x10.50s on it)
A year after (I rebuilt it to look similar to a M416)
So I broke out the my light saber.....errr plasma cutter and apart she came
(dont leave axles upright they have a habit of rolling down hills)
The where I am currently:
I'm making it a bit larger, going from a 55"x38" bed in version 2 too 64"x44" in version 3
the frame is 3"x3/16ths" channel with 2.5"x2.5"x.25" tube
the drum bed is made out of a sections of doubled up 2x2x.125" angle set as a "T" or with more angle
The Ram I'm thinking of using is a 4" bore 19" stroke 3.5" rod
i think its a bit over kill but I might be wrong the cylinder calculator at surplus center saids it will produce 22,000lbs of force at 1800 psi
Here is is nearly done, the problem is the cylinder I don't know if I can get away with a smaller one 2" 2.5" or if it is mounted a a good angle.
And I got this HF truck crane for $69 so its getting mounted
