Durability of B8200 Hydrostat.

I'm looking at buying an 82 B8200 with 600hrs on it. My first question is are all B8200s hydrostatic or do some have manuel transmissions. I'm also wondering how durable Kubotas hydrostats. are. At 600 hrs I would think this should have lots of life left. I was seriously looking at a 24 hp grey market Kubota but I'd rather buy this one if checks out all right and we can agree on a price.

I have a B8200DT, which is the gear drive version, it"s a great little tractor. I have had no problems and it has about the same hours as the one you are looking at. As far as the hydro's go they are very dependable. We seldom every have a problem with a Kubota hydro. That's about the only thing I would consider trading mine in for with the exception of finding one with power steering.

A B8200 is the same vintage as my previous tractor. A B7100HST. These tractors have been highly praised here on TBN.
The HST's have had little or no problems.

The B8200 was available with either HST or manual trans. Kubota HSTs are very reliable but, it is a used tractor over 20 years old. Anything is possible. If you go with the grey PLEASE don't expect your favorite Kubota dealer to supply parts.

My B7100 HST has 2300 hours on it. About half would be loader work. Transmission has creep but think it needs some new linkage parts. No other transmission problems. Sturdy little beast that builds character with no power steering.

did i read that right? a 23 year old tractor with ONLY 600 hrs on it? that only is about 26 hrs per/ year. my good friend has a b9200 with lots more hours and he has never had a problem with the hydro, come to think of it HE HAS NEVER HAD any majior problem with any thing. IT was one of the deciding factors of why i bought my kubota
