Duramax problems! No parts for 2 months

I have an 2011 Chevy 2500 HD diesel it has 104 000 km on it. Last week the light came on and said service now! So we did so and the truck been there since last Wednesday. after 4 days they find the problem and order the part....the part is not available in North America.....out of stock!! The def part that we needs cost 300 bucks and 400 bucks of labour and its not under warranty. And worst of all the part won't be in till the end of September! So two month with our my truck the dealer doesn't want to help me don't want to lend a truck what else are my options?

Find one in the junk yard. Had the same problem with my Explorer when it was only a few years old. Ford didn't support the replacement parts yet.

Don't buy another truck from that dealer. Did they mention why it is not under warranty? Maybe contact GM?

Did they mention what the problem was, and if you could possibly drive it until the part comes in? Not like voiding the warranty seems like an issue.

The problem is that if we drive the vehicle it will limit to 8 mph! And we're not sure when and we already did contact gm and there not really helping....and trust me this is the last truck we buy there!!! We're going to make them by back the truck gm has that policy that thy must do it! Or we will make them give us a truck for 2 months can't wait to see what they say tmrw!!! I'll let you guys know

Depending on how GM handles this, your issue may be more with your local dealer. We will see.

I think that's the biggest problem the service manager is a real....but we know the owners pretty well so we will go higher up the ladder!

Hope it works out for you. I had to get a lawyer with my GM. Never again.

In all fairness I had more problems out of my one and only Dodge but they treated me great and I got a loaner that was equal or better. Same thing with Ford when it was in the shop.
