We are considering the purchase of a Case DX26. Has anyone out there used a backhoe on this tractor, and if so how does it perform? Also, any general comments about the tractor itself?

I have a TC24DA and the 756C hoe, not sure how close this is to your tractor, but this set-up works great. In looking at the Case site, it looks like mine is the equal to the BHX72 model. Somewhere I heard that Rhino makes the hoes for NH.
Hooking and unhooking takes <5mins, and the power is great for the size. I've dug many trenches for gas, water and downspouts. It's good for digging small stumps and pretty much whatever I've needed it to do. Whatever one you buy, make sure it has a sub-frame!

The DX26 is the new model of the DX24. It should be the same frame as the TC24 with the new engine. My wife just got a NH TC-23DA with FEL and 60"MMM. Over all we like the tractor but I noticed that it does not nearly have the pulling power of my 1530. (24HP in the TC29 and 33 family. Case has identical tractors with different sheet metal. With the new TC-33 models coming out later this year, you might consider looking into deals for either Case or NH in the next tractor Family size. The DX26 is a little light and the next size has a substantially heavier frame and running gear. For light work, the DX26 would be ok, but be careful to properly size the tractor for the work and not just price. Otherwise you may be trading in in a year or two.
