Hello all,
I purchased a DX29 today knowing that it had an issue where it will not start with the key. You can jump the solenoid and it starts fine. The first think I noticed is the PTO light on the dash stays on all the time.
I have read other forums and have checked the fuses. I also checked the pink wire on the solenoid to see if it is getting some voltage, but low voltage to indicate a ground problem and it is getting no voltage when the key is turned.
This tractor has mid and rear pto. The mid pto lever has an obvious pressure switch that the linkage presses when engaged. With the key on I can press this switch and hear a relay click so I believe this switch is working as it should. The rear pto does not have a pressure switch that I can find. There are two switches of some kind that thread into the rear end close to where the pto engagement linkage enters that I assume would be related to the pto switch. They have two black wires each coming off of them. Is there a way to jump these switches and see if the pto light goes out and if the tractor will start? Does anyone know which one of these two switches are for the pto and what the other one is for?
Thanks in advance!
Mike
