My grandad's remedy for most everything bug and dog related was diesel, kerosense or windex!

my wife the vet tech says advantix doesn't do squat for ear mites. you just have to gently clean their ears or pay the vet to do it. mineral oil will suffocate the mites but you still gotta clean.
