So I'm looking through the farm & ranch for-sale section of craigslist this morning about 6 am, with plans to pick up a new grading scraper for my business and the first listing says "Ford 9N tractor and 5 implements, needs to go today! - $1,500 (Wills Point Texas).

HOLD THE BUS!!!

Three hours later I have a loaded trailer with...a 1941 running-like-a-top 9N with 12 volt conversion, two 5 ft brush hogs, a two bottom plow, a box blade and something John Deere (appears to be a plow assembly of some type.)

The old girl needs a seal for one of the 3pt arms, a pto seal and a rear tube for the tire. That's it!

I couldn't be happier!

:D

Under the gray paint on the hood (over dark blue), I can just make out a faint hand-painted logo that says "Water Well Service, Inc. Liberal KS".

th epto seal is ease.. the 3pt arm seal? well.. you might as well do brakes and axle seals too, as you will be pulling an axle trumpet to pull the 3pt arm pin to regasket.

great value still!

Sounds like a good winter project. I'll be pulling all of the sheetmetal for a complete repaint as well. We'll use this tractor around the house for brush hogging and as a parade ride to pull a wagon to advertise my business. Other than that it'll be living a pretty pampered life.

The brush hog that's on it right now has script writing on it that says "Agri-Fi"? I can't read the whole thing. I'm thinking that it's "Agri-Five" since its a 5 foot mower. Does anyone have more info on this? The other mower is older and in good shape, but the deck needs attention. The guy I bought it from said that it mows like a finish mower, but he was afraid to use it since he doesn't weld.

I've heard of an agri-five now and then as well as an agri-72 which are made by BEE-Line products ..

Thanks soundguy, that sounds right.

Question - My radiator cap hits the remove spot when the wing is straight. I saw a photo of the bottom of a few different caps and it looks as though the tabs are different for pressurized and non pressurized. Can anyone confirm this?

non pressurized is a 1000% completely different cap.. pressurized has the tabs on the outside like a regular rad cap.. the non pressurized are more odf s screw in style.

no wat to interchange them.

Hey John, nice buy! I think I saw that tractor on craigslist once before. A 9N in Wills Point seems to ring a bell, but the price you got on it is almost salvage/scrap prices.
