Earthmaster tractor

Here is an old abused Earthmaster I bought as a parts tractor, but decided to get running just for laughs. Here is a video posted to youtube, thought people might want to see a rare Earthmaster:

Knowing me, I'd have to get it running just because... Not original..?? Even more rare in my mind.

Could be just the condenser in the mag. Maybe $10... Coils rarely went bad, but still can be gotten for around $50-$60. F-M parts available through many old engine parts suppliers. Last I bought was through a local diesel supply that was a Colt Industries dealer (Bought out F-M engine division in
'64).

You don't list where you are located, but also many oil field supply places that have parts for the F-M single cylinder engines, used on oil well pump jacks are more then likely Colt Industries dealer too, and could get you mag parts.

I am curious about the canister, just below the exhaust pipe. Thought at first it was some sort of oil bath breather, but with smaller lines out the top, not sure...

That is an AC Delco sediment bowl, with original metal cup underneath for a holder.

If you decide to get the mag repaired, word of warning... Don't turn the mag over, with your hand holding it by the cap, on the bench... It will knock the "dog water" out of you..!! Don't ask how I know...!!

Cleaned the points, and the spark came back strong.

I'm in Massachusetts.....we could use an oil well, might help my home heating oil bill!

The cannister appears to be some sort of air filter housing, but it has moss growing in it :laughing: So I'll not bother hooking it up.

I did get her running, and in the later videos I'll get to uploading next week, I drive her!

Thanks. I was walking past it the other day, and for giggles I checked it again. Started right up. But it now has a new aound coming out the exhaust. My theory is that 2nd cylinder that was blowing oil bad has fouled the plug.

I'll get the last of the EM vids up soon.

Well, I put up the last of the videos of the poor Earthmaster parts tractor. I satisfied myself the PTO, transmision, and hydraulics work, so I guess my next move is to sell off some parts.
