Hi All
I have a Eaton hydrostatic # 11 transmission that I have put on a tractor that I built and was wondering if they are worth rebuilding. It is running real hot. On e-bay the # 11 hydrostatic drives are all CCW rotation and the one that I have is CW rotation. I would rather replace it than rebuild it. I am not sure where I would look for rebuilt kits, or if I should. Is there someother place other than e-bay that I should look for the transmission? I bought the transmission only not the tractor. I do not know what make the tractor was that the transmission came off.
It work real good on the tractor.
Thanks for your help.
Mark

Does your pump have these numbers? 1100-038,

if so, they cost around $2553.00

Thanks J.J.
The #'s on the one that I have are 11868 5 ( 1100 is the model and 868 is the specific unit configuration ) & CW ( is rotation ) 16D ( date code ).
I would still rather replace the transmission.
The tractor is powered by a 27 hp.
Thanks again

Marcuswayne,

These Hydrostatic Trans by Eaton are not an easy rebuild......plan on replacing most of the moving parts internally.....Not just a seal kit.....this unit is a Pump/Motor Combo which has both components (pump & motor) together.....if it runs very hot you probably have too much wear internally....

The main pump chamber has a rotor assy with multiple 1.000" dia precision fit balls for the pump displacement.....fussy tolerances.....

Some of these units had problems with oil reservoir too small contributing to contamination wear......Not Good.....I'd be looking for a replacement and clean up the reservoir/oil.........:2cents:

There was a company called Spenser (spelling) Hydraulics out in Oregon / Washington that used to rebuild these. Not sure if they still do or not. Looking at the tractor in the picture I think you are going to need a bigger unit.
