Is this a scam? Ebay, not a scam, just ignorance

I found this auction the other day. I e-mailed the guy and he finally replied to me. He said that they were just going by what they were told at the auction he bought it at. I am surpized that more people haven't brought it to his attention.

Sure is a pretty blue for a Yanmar. Seems a little small too for a 3110.

I suggested to him that he end the auction and relist it as a Mitsubishi. The auction has been ended. Not a scam, but not a real clever fellow either /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I don't know, Dave. If he can get $3200 (his reserve) out of an 18-20HP Mitsi, I'd say he's quite clever. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

What amazes me even more than folks selling items about which they are completely ignorant is folks BUYING items about which they are completely ignorant. They usually call us two weeks later so they can yell at us when we tell them the reality of what they bought (yessir, that "G" in the Satoh model stands for "gas", even if they did tell you it was diesel-no, those spark plugs do not make it an 'electronically fired diesel', they make it a gas engine.....no sir, front wheel drive requires an actual driveshaft to the front, not just traction tires on the front axle...and there are plenty more)
