AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Pictures tell so many words! (There's a saying somewhere in there!!!). So, your recommendation is to take out that big ol' bolt that holds the paw, and then place it back in such an orientation to match your setup; vs. mine where it seems "stuck" above all the geared teeth of the brake lever???

Thank you Chander!!!

You got it!
When you get that back in place we can check on your brake adjustment.

Just push on the brake pedal and get a screwdriver and push it back down. Mine would do this all the time.

THANK YOU!!!! ALL. She's free!!!

I tried the screw driver approach, but, there was no way (that I could see) to be able to push pedal and screwdriver-wedge the pawl back. Which makes me wonder how did I get the darned thing on the wrong side of the brake/gear-teeth. I'll try to not put all my weight on it in the future. I took the big-*** bolt out that holds the pawl, allowed everyone to go back to 'normal' then put bolt back in. Working fine.

If anyone has the DIY for brake adjustment, that would be nice, but, I can search as well. I will say there's virtually no slop, play, in the brake pedal. I feel tension immediately, or resistance, and it doesn't take much for the brakes to engage....

Thanks again people. Very thankful for the quick and useful help. Take care, stay healthy!

Jay

Now that I think of it I used a pry bar to push it back. By pushing the brake in to far will cause this to happen. Like I said mine did this all the time unless I remembered to not push to hard. Probably needed to be adjusted. I have a different tractor now. I put the pry bar on it, pushed hard on the brake and just pushed the pry bar down till it cleared the teeth. You could also try to push down on the rod that activates the brake, it looks like it should go back down.
