Echo Pro Attachment Series

I am looking into this product because I need the brush cutter and the pole pruner, and may eventually get the hedge trimming attachment.

Does anyone use this product and is it more beneficial to get these attachments instead of a separate unit for each tool required.

Any input is appreciated.

When I priced it out, it made more sense to get the powerhead and separate attachments, plus that's fewer motors and less clutter to deal with. Get the most powerful powerhead you can afford.

I suppose the only disadvantage is that you'd be putting more hours on the motor, but I wouldn't worry too much with an Echo.

I've used one for years. With different attachments you can usually find a reason to run the engine so the gas doesn't gum up. Got the hedger, tiller, edger, pole saw and trimmer attachments. Can't imagine trying to keep that many engines running.

I've got an Echo 266 with the line trimmer and the paddle, works great ans as AuCivil says, you have an opportunity to run the engine more. I already had a hedge trimmer or else I woudld have bought one of those as well.
Only thing I would recommend is to get the line trimmer with the higher speed, I got one with more torque and it doesn't cut as good as my older dedicated trimmer. Saying that, it does work good with a blade so one or the other I guess....Mike

We have a couple of these units and used them lots. Plus the Echo units you can't change the head out on readily. (what are they called?) We do like them and plan to get more of these of both styles. Nonetheless, they are not perfect. For one, I don't like the button you need to pull to release the attachment. We wear gloves and its to hard to pull that little button while wearing them. I'm not sure how much we run these per fall but we certainly do run them some, might be 80 hours per unit.

We run sea foam fuel stabilizer in them all the time. Some 2 stroke oils come with stabilizer already in them.

I have an older version of this that I bought almost 20 years ago. I use the line trimmer, plastic blades, and saw all on the same attachment (just change the cutting head). I also bought an edger about 10 years ago and use that too. It has been great! It is still running well and I am considering some of the newer attachments but since my power unit is older it may not be large enough for them. Oh well, may have to upgrade to a newer/more powerful power unit!

P.S. -- With the Echo stuff I have never had a problem changing out the attachments. Mine has a large knob that you turn to tighten or loosen the clamp on the attachment as well as a spring-loaded pin for locating. Changeout takes me about 1 minute ...

I own the Echo straight shaft trimmer don't recall the exact model number but it is the larger one. What are you calling "the paddle"? Is it the adapter to use the three individual plastic cutting blades? I've used them and they work pretty good. I've been pretty dissapointed with the speed feed head as the line welds inside on the spool and then breaks off inside the eyelets and then have take apart and rewind the line. bjr
