I'm running a 2014 New Holland Boomer 37 that has had the engine set up to run without the computer controlling it (smog stuff deleted).. my question is: what is left that the computer controls? can I just unhook to connectors to it? I think it still controls the safety switches for the seat, pto, etc and if I'm right I could just bypass the computer by running a 12v wire to the batt terminal of the ignition switch?

Any ideas?? appreciate any feedback\

You are asking a pretty complicated question. But here is a start...

Look at your high pressure fuel pump - the one that runs the injectors. If there is an individual pressure line to each injector, then there is an outside chance that your tractor is an old style completely mechanical type and the computer is not involved . Most diesel tractors before about 2002 were purely mechanically injected with individual lines to each injector. Some later ones still are.

However, If it is common rail type, then the computer runs the injectors.

Now having said that, there are many intermediate models. Smog stuff isn't the only reason for a computer. I have two tractors from 2007 and 2008 which have individual pressure lines to each injector, and neither came with any computer smog controls. But on both of those there is also a basic computer which controls the output of the high pressure pump itself. They both need a computer to run.

rScotty,
this unit is not a common rail, individual pressure lines. Will try to trace some wire and see what I find. So far I'm doing fine but reading all the troubles people have with computer ran tractors I'm trying to think ahead.
Thanks for the comeback

I'm no authority on computer controlled tractors, but if it's a common sense fuel system, then what would a computer have done before anything was deleted/removed? If it seems to run right now with electronics disconnected you should be okay. Unless the transmission is electronic in some way, as in electronic shuttle or hydrostat (some models do have that), then all that's left would be the operator aggravation circuits. You should be able to determine which fuse(s) power the computer, pull them out and see what happens.
