I'm new to compact tractors and attachments. I bought a CK2610hst with a couple of attachments including a flail mower by Agriease or Braber Equipment. The mower is Made in China and considered medium duty and weighs around 540lbs at 60 inches wide. I paid $1,850. I tried to mow untouched reed canary grass but abandoned when I noticed standing water in the cut. I thought the dealer set up was wrong. Skids were adjusted to rear roller level so that skids and roller contacted the ground together. I readjusted the rear roller to give a 4" cut and placed the skids about and 1 1/2 inches above the roller and I removed the scraper bar as it was bound up with cut grass. I tried this set up on a patch of japanese knotweed 3 meters in height. Also I cut a neighbors overgrown lot - 15 years worth of blackberries, saplings and grass. Very pleased with the results. I tried to avoid saplings over 2" in diameter. The mower would slow up in really heavy stuff. Not sure how to assess the cut. The lot was covered in a mulch about 4" deep after mowing and mice were jumping around wondering what happened. I've studied the manual that came with the mower. It's poorly written and you have to figure out how to, for example, adjust the belts on your own. Also the manual shows an older model so parts are not the same. The gearbox was very warm as was the gear drive line to the belts after usage and gear oil managed to dribble out. I guess that's normal. The Y knives were slightly rounded from the factory square edges. Total hours is probably 2. The mower seems stout. Most of the grease fittings are accessible but you have to remove the drive shroud to access the gearbox drain plug. I think I'll be ok with this flail. If anything fails, parts seem universal or easy to fab. DSC00206.JPGDSC00211.jpgDSC00273.jpgDSC00206.JPGDSC00211.jpgDSC00273.jpg

Hey, I was wondering if you are still happy with your Agriease Flail mower from Braber Equipment. I'm looking for a flail mower myself and these are available in my area.

Hello kkimura,

I want to welcome you as the newest resident member of the "Flail Mower Nations"
from Montesano, Washington.

To help you with your flail mower; when it is mounted on the three point hitch you need to
use a bubble level/torpedo level to make sure the gear box is level by adjusting the top link
while watching the bubble to make sure it is level and lock the top link in place.

The skid plates bolted to the side weldments are ment only to prevent the mower from
dipping foward and letting the flail mower rotor possibly impacting the ground and not ride on the ground.

In order to have the best performance mowing performance you need to slow down while mowing to
recut the material you are mowing.

You can recut the clippings several times and they will degrade faster into the sod.

when greasing the flail mower do not pump any more than 4-6 pumps of grease into the flail mower rotor
bearings or open bearing supporting the cross shaft that rotates the upper pulley at each mowing.
