EGADS! FRIDAY NIGHT AND THE BEER\'S NOT COLD!!

The coils are clean and the coil fan is running. The compressor is humming, but no joy in the fridge.

It's a 7yr. old Kenmore. Any thoughts on what to check next, other than the phonebook?

In my limited experience, refrigerators are getting to be like vacuum cleaners. It stops working, you get a new one. Now, if'n you got a place to store it and some time to waste, after you get the new one, you can try to fix the old one for dedicated beer cooling.

I need one in the basement right now to cool the homebrew and the various ingredients. I'm hoping the old one keeps going after the CFO requires that we buy a new one for the new-and-improved kitchen I feel coming up.

Send the Beer stock up here. I'll cool it down and then check to make sure the heat didn't affect the quality.

Limited experience, but, have repaired a few. Last post was good, is the freezer cold? I have had that a few times. Freezer cold but bottom warm. Usually froze up due to the heater element not working in the coils. Have seen the drain stop up, water backed up and froze up. Pretty simple items to check there.
Pretty much a pain without a fridge, sure use a lot of ice.

Couuld be that the frig has a switch for the defrost cycle and it is stuck in the defrost mode, although I would not know how to check it. Look for a wiring diagram on the back of the unit somewhere, it might show it. My condolensces on the loss of life's essential elements. Chet
