While mowing last Sat Iwas able to use the eHydro at its full potential. I found that in B speed range there is a compromise between how fast I can mow and the comfort in the seat, too fast is too much bouncing. There is also a spot on the drive when the tranny starts to whine. I found that by setting the MAX speed control to just below the whine the speed was fast enough to get the job done and slow enough to keep me in the seat with out any bouncing. Just trying to justify the hydro drive. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif and all the options I got. Next week I will take action pics.

Lou,

That sporadic whine from the eHydro tranny may have more to do with replacing the poppet on the charge relief valve than with your actual operation of the 4410. Jason is looking into this whining sound for me and when he's found an appropriate solution I'll be getting this rectified on my 4710.

Bob, it must be pretty comforting knowing that that is all it is. I was going to mail Tags with his JD 110 about it in case he has a similar problem. I'm sure anyone that has a whinning sound, particularly on the JD 4610, 4710 and JD 110 will want to consider this advice. I'm glad the issue is simple for you guys, Rat...

It is not a bad whine, it is like a geared transmission in low when the motor starts to get to the higher rpm range. That what it sounds like to me. I will listen more next time I mow.

Let's hope this is all it is. I just looked again at the reply post joecdeere made in the 4610 hydro scream thread. He posted the JD bulletin # 54621 that came out on 12/16/02 re: this hydro squealing noise. I notice on the bottom of the bulletin this problem may apply only to the larger frame hydros such as the 4610, 4710, and the 110TLB. No mention is made of this problem affecting the 4410 tractors......so you may be okay. I definitely have it, I brought it to the attention of KC, and Jason is working on a solution. He's one top notch technician Lou. If you ever need him to diagnose anything, he'll likely put his finger on the problem within minutes.

There's nothing more comforting than knowing one has a dealer that is so competent that one can go to them and problems are quickly diagnosed and rectified. I, Jim (JC4HD) Crowley, LouG, and mopar are fortunate to have found a good dealer in KC-Canary in Fultonville, NY. I only wish all JD dealers in the country were like them.

Again, if anyone out there in upstate New York or surrounding states is looking for a good, reliable, and competent JD dealer who'll provide a fair price on a tractor purchase and who knows how to service the equipment they sell, then do consider KC-Canary. You'll likely not do better anywhere else. My personal feeling is the guys at KC set the bar for excellence that many other JD dealers try to emulate.
