Tractor
2000 New Holland TC40D-HST
I am looking for a new tractor in the 55 to 75 HP range and I was surprised to see that JD has a few tractors (4720-66hp) and a (4520-60hp) with the eHYDRO and turbocharger available. My use is mostly fence line work, brush cutting, finish mowing, rototilling and some loader and box blade work and my tractor for the last 10 years has been a New Holland TC40D, with the HST trans and 4WD so I've become quite use to the "automatic."

What has been the experience with the JD tractors with their eHYDRO, auto trans??

I want to stay away from a geared tractor if possible.

Thanks!

I bought a new 4720 w/cab last July and love it. I have had no problems. I managed to install a 84" John Deere front blade on it with a ballast box on the 3PH. It is so nice to have the comfort & power available all the time. I am looking forward to snow this winter. I used to sit on my International lowboy with a rear 8' blade. No more sore neck/back and bone chilling cold. No more getting hung up in a snowbank with 2WD.

I have owned alot of JD and kubota compacts over the years. Some geared and some hydro. I was a hardcore JD PowerReverser (gear) fan for many years until I bought a JD 4720 CAB with eHydro because it was the only option---and I LOVE it!! Ehydro with the automotive cruise options is awesome.
