Regarding: "It's a good rule of thumb to walk/inspect new ground before mowing...... "
Not only did I inspect the area carefully, but I used a weedeater to create 5-6 foot buffer zones around the multiple stumps. But, silly me, I got distracted while focusing on threading the needle through a couple of stumps in front of me, and in a turn caught the stump I had already passed. Lesson learned-- next time I will weed eat the entire zone first, and never get any closer than mowing around them.
I did more brush hogging today. All seems well. The vibration seems gone.
