I put the electric diverter valve kit on my 4310, install went great. At the same time I put in a bucket curl seal kit. All at about 480 hrs, the plan was to run the tractor for about 20 hrs and do the 500 hr service. The problem I noticed was a pronounced cavitation on the loader lift cilnders, no air or water in the oil. Changed the oil at 495 hrs, the cavitation got better but not gone. Can the DV cause a flow restriction? Is there any adjustment to the valve? Or somthing else I am missing?

I don't think the diverter would cause a restriction. Sounds like a O-ring or seal is not seated properly, or some other debris has fouled the system.

Is the restriction only on the lift circuit?

yes it's only on the lift circuit, I guess I don't know how to trouble shoot this. The filters were all clean I even cut them apart to check.

Lets start with the simple stuff...

-Did you remove the loader when you installed the diverter? If YES, then unplug and re-seat the QD's, often they look connected but are not fully seated.

-To install the diverter, did you have to take the whole SCV valve pack off? (I am not familiar with how the diverter is installed. If YES, then make sure the banjo fittings and copper washers are a seated properly.

thanks for the reply, yes the loader was removed, I'll check the QDs tomorrow. The DV mounts under your rt. foot, you take the 4 lines off the loader valve and replace them with lines from the kit, that go to the DV, and 4 lines come back out and go to the back of the tractor for your 2 remotes. 4 short lines out the front of the DV go to the loader QDs

Just to confirm, this cavitation wasn't present before the seal repair and diverter valve installation ?

Is the "return to tank" line rubber ?, is it collapsing ?

Another troubleshooting step may be to swap the loader functions (rearrange the hoses such that up/down becomes bucket tilt and vice versa). If the issue now moves to the tilt circuit it's before the QDs, if not it's probably after (but also quite possible that the lift cylinders have a faster flow rate or are under more strain when empty and it's more systemic).

thanks guys, I never noticed the cavitation before, checked the QDs all are tight, return line is metal with 2 rubber hose couplers, not collapsed. I'll try switching the hoses around this morning. After playing around with it yesterday the cavitation is most noticeable after start up and and almost disappears
after using , but when the tractor sits and idles for a few minutes it comes back and goes away. Thanks again for the help

Thanks for the help, after switching the lift and curl circuit, it wasn't in the curl circuit. So I put everything back, and all is working good :D

Did you reset the QD's like I suggested above? I bet that was your problem...

But anyway, glad you got it fixed
