For a few branches and limbs on 3 acres, I would never spend that kind of money. Get a set of pallet forks and make do.

BTW, my first tractor was a JD 855 and I used a $125 set of clamp on forks. Yes...you need to get off the tractor to position branches and you will need more trips, but it will work.

I had about $150 in my hydraulic setup. But I cheated. Of course all I needed was hoses and fittings. I had a remote on the back of the tractor as all Kioti's came with a minimum of 1 valve upon delivery at that time. I just ran hoses up front, and made my own bracket and welded it on the torque tube cover. I uses parts from my old Kubota's bucket. I bought the grapple new from everything attachments and I got in on the ground floor as it was less than $1300. Of course you can't get in for that amount of money now.

I don't think a plane ticket to Florida would be cost effective.

If you can turn wrenches, I'd be happy to try and guide/advise you.

A diverter is easier. Just need the valve, a momentary contact switch, and the fittings, hoses, and couplings.

Anybody ever use the hydraulic system from Tractor Innovations? It comes with everything needed, including hoses, for rear function or grapple for $550 to the house. The only drawback is it has a mechanical valve. Watching the videos makes me think I would want a longer handle rather the just the knob. Threaded rod would take care of that. Please give me your thoughts. Thanks

It is the $550 kit from tractorinnovations.com. The kit from Summit may be a better deal, It has the electric valve and grip and appears to have the hoses as well for $550. I am quickly talking myself into spending lots of money. I do know the Brush Crusher BC4300 is out of the question. I just got a price quote 0f $2,900 with over 6 week delivery time.

That actually surprises the h3ll out of me.

Not really any more steel or welding or painting or manufacturing costs of a grapple.....without the expense of the cylinder....but nearly 3x the cost.

I can see it being a big success if it were priced similarly to a hydraulic grapple. Since its virtually a wash on material/fabrication/and design yet the end user doesnt need to mess with hydraulics or controls, etc. But I dont see them selling many at that price

Lots of members here have used various diverter or 3rd functions kits with great success and easy DIY install. They have there merits. So I cannot answer any specific questions regarding that. I choose to source my own parts, then have hoses made locally to save money vs buying a kit. But the end result is the same. The extra $200 is worth it to many not to have to run around and second guess what they are doing and spending days on an install getting hoses, adapters, etc vs just a few hours.

Im sure prices have went up on hydraulic grapples. But you are talking a compact tractor, not a skidloader where you need a beast of a grapple. I am sure you can find one in the $1500 range that would suite a 955 just fine

Ok all my beer money is gone. Are you guys happy now? Actually I don't drink alcohol anymore. I just ordered the Summit DV50 Kit. That is what they recommended for my 955/70A loader for right at $380. I will still need hoses, but that should not be that much, hopefully. Now the search for a hydraulic grapple. Should I change the title of my post?
