After I used the hitch from rs_fabricators purchased on E-bay, problems showed up. The right side of the hitch frame bent upward. Evidently caused by un-even pull on right side with weight added. Straightened it up and made revisions for a center lift set up which is more like a three point system. New photos are posted for your comments and sugestions. Believe this will be a problem on any lift pulling off of one side. Jerry

I wondered about that! They sure dont make them out of heavy plate like they used to. The OEM kit is an additional back/hitch plate that bolts over the original. Double the thickness kind of thing. Sorry to hear about the trouble! Looks like she's good to go now.

Hey Joel: Right. I looked at the picture of the OEM and thought it looked like a beefed up back plate. Figured out what caused the problem. It isn't pulling the weight up, it happens when you put the load down. when the load hits the ground and you put pressure like with the scraper, the actuator keeps pushing on one side only. The little unit has a keck of a power!! It can't do that now as all the pressure is in the center. Don't believe it will give me anymore trouble. Never really liked the one side pull anyhow /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif Also cut the upper mount down two inches on a 45 angle to clear the hydro check/fill system. Doesn't interfere with anything on the standard plate /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif All I need now is some yellow paint /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif Jerry

I wonder if that electric lift can be revised to lift the snowblade on a 2500?

Hello Drifter: What in the heck is a "Snow Blade"?? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I have even seen posts on this forum about something called a "Snow Blower"!! Come to think about it, what is Snow??? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Enough levity. The lift is rated at 500lbs. Weight shouldn't be a problem for the actuator. The original back plate is too lightweight to move the actuator to the center as is. I found that the pull up weight caused it to have a slight bow. Corrected this by adding an 11-1/4"x1-1/2" angle iron backing on the inside across and even with the top of the plate. This appears to be the last piece of the revision puzzle. From what I have found, a revised design from original has made the lift worth its price. I didn't really have too much problem re-designing because I have all the necessary equip. to work with (drill press, welding machine, etc and plenty of time). To me, the $377 is a lot better than the $1000 for the OEM as long as it can accomplish my purposes. My biggest use is for the 42" scraper with spoilers. Possibly looking at small cultivator and rear tiller in the future if I can talk my wife in to useing it /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Jerry
