I have just purchased the "Electric Hydraulic Valve Kit" from
W.R. Long; http://www.wrlonginc.com/valve_kits.htm

I plan to install this to regain the curl function I lose when attaching a snow blade to my LA853 FEL. It is currently set-up so that I disconnect the curl hoses and attach the power-angle hoses; I want to maintain lift & curl, and still have the power-angle for the blade.

Does anyone here have any experienced advice for installing these?

Thanx,

Out of curiosity, how much did that cost you?

Mad,

Long would not sell to me direct unless it was an emergency; preferred that I use a dealer. I called the closest dealer in my State and after the second attempt at asking for the product and getting a vacuous response, I called the 2nd and last in-State dealer. Price is $515 plus shipping (UPS).

The dealer was unaware of the product; I had to refer him to the Long web page. He was also incredulous concerning the price: he said: (paraphrased)that's half the price of what I can buy the Fasse valve for, and this has all of the extra parts needed for the installation including the instructions".

I am not a wrench, so I hope this is a fairly straightforward project.

I ordered the WR Long grapple bucket and electric rocker switch kit through Carver Equip. The bucket takes 2 - 3 weeks (Checked Tues. and mine is beiing painted possibly shipped this week). They shipped the valve kit pronto and I mounted it last weekend. The only decision to make is where you want to tap in for the 12 volts.

In the kit is a fuse assembly, so it's a matter if you want a circuit that works only when the key is on or not. Mounting the valve is simple, just follow the directions for where the valve is to be located. Mine is for a Kubota L3400 and is mounted to the two top bolts for the loader frame right side. Needed some extra leverage to break the bolts loose though.

The valve is well made and sturdy, as I said --- "Can't Wait for the Bucket"!!!!
