No advice on preasure washers, but I did see an episode of This Old House when they talked about preasure washing paint off an old home.
They did a demonstraition on the siding of a home, then pulled it apart. The wood was saturated almost halfway through. I don't remember how much power the preasure washer had to do this, but they said it would take months to dry out again before you could paint it.
The reason for the demonstration was to show the cause of paint failure on wood that had been preasure washed with water.
They recomended useing a special sander, but that's another thread.
