Even if the electricity to recharge this 3-wheeler were free, how many thousand "short hops around the neighborhood" will be required to pay for itself in gas savings!!???!!
I agree. I investigated buying a Geo Metro during the last gas crisis. The savings for me would have been nil, as the newer car would depreciate, the plates were more and the taxes were higher than the cost of me operating my long ago paid for 8MPG 454 powered 3/4 ton beater. Now, I don't drive that many miles, so the cost savings wouldn't have been worth it. But I could see someone that drives a lot considering trading for a better mileage vehicle. But these little scooters probably won't save you anything VS the cost of purchase. The real reason you should buy one of these is for the fun of it, not any practicality! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
They look like they would be useful in a large warehouse environment, emissions wise. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
I always thought about getting a golf cart for our property when we move. That would be fun. I could drive around my 'estate' and pretend like I was rich or something.... I'd like to have some topiary, mowed lawn trails and a putting green in the medow. Then the tax man would come, see all the improvements, and re-assess my property, Then I could drive myself to the poorhouse on it! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
