Can anyone tell me what the proper name is for these fixtures? NEMA name or trade name?

Thanks.

Looks like a low bay either metal halide or high pressure sodium...

As an electrician by trade, I can tell you that there should be an info tag with mfg name mdl and voltage/wattage and type... better pictures would help. I didnt see the bulb base in the center of the fixture with the cover removed, which throughs me off. Most fixtures of that size would have mogul base bulbs... about 1-1/2" diam threads where the bulb screws in.

What's the bulb look like? Should be wattage and type on it also.

I agree... low bay style fixture.

The black thing at the left edge of the fixture is some kind of plug in connector.

Just went out there. 2 flat blades, maybe 1/2 in long. Co-linear (in a straight line w each other) and tangent to the curve of the fixture.

The reason I'm asking all this as there's no bulb and that's what I'm trying to find out what to ask for at the elec supplier. So I don't look too stupid!

Thanks for the help.

There should be a manufacturers label on it somewhere. Could be on the top of the housing.
