Electrical ? Fuel Gauge/Sending Unit Gone Berserk !!

On the Turbo tractor build I got a marine sender unit (straight pipe with float for less sloshing around).
We picked up a fuel gauge at a local auto-store .... bad move as that gauge evidently works for some other range than the marine style
(apparently it is a GMC style 0-90 ohms)

The marine sender is 240-30 ohms

We found a full 270 degree sweep fuel gauge that will work with marine standard..

I attempted to put a sending unit off a fork lift similiar to the marine one you used
But the mount holes did not line up on the tank
Just thought it was too much work to re tap tank for peace of mind
Have not run out of fuel since l got the dowel method

Testing ohms ? Range on Jinma sending unit ?
Just watched a video ohm testing a sending unit with ohm meter

Is this the ohm reading I'm looking for on a Jinma sending unit, or was this the one that came from the auto store ?

The sender is a marine style 240-30 ohms. The gauge we got at a local store was the GMC style with the wrong resistance range.
The OHM reading you are interested in is what the sender uses. Move the float up and down while measuring the resistance. The range you get will tell
you what style gauge to get so you can match it.
