Electrical Plug In & Fender Cover

Hello:

I was wondering if someone knows what the plug in located near the winshield washer jug was intended for? I checked it for power and it is live when the headlights are turned on. I thought it might be a good place to take power for a rotating light.

Also, there is a small cover bolted through the top right rear fender... any ideas on what this was intended for?

I looked at my shop manual and they show a 3 wire plug with the fuses marked source 1 and source 2 . They dont say what the plug is for or where it is located . How many wires are at your plug ? It might also be for a license plate light , but they dont show a plug for it

There are 3 wires. Solid black, brown with white and white with yellow. This connector is in two pieces and the removable piece looks like it could be custom wired.

I tried to scan the diagram and todays technology got the best of me. The wire colors did not match , except for the black which it shows as ground. I think what it shows is 2 dedicated circuts from the fuse box , and if you find 2 fuses marked as source or spare , try pulling the fuse and check for voltage at the plug . They show as 20 amp fuses on diagram . Best of luck ! Mark

Thanks Mark. I will have another look on days off. Do you know if the cab was pre wired for a beacon? There is a fuse in the slot (in the panel to the left of the seat) that is marked "beacon" and I will try this one as well. I think there is also a panel in or near the steering column and this one may have a fuse marked "source".

Yes they do show a beacon and wiring and says for euorpe , and shows 2 or 3 wires at the beacon , hard to tell . Do you have a switch for the beacon ? Good luck ! Mark

No there is no switch but here are a couple of covers next to front and rear wiper and work light switches. I am going to check with the dealer on Friday and see what they say. Thanks for your help.
