Hello I haven't posted for a while. I noticed a 2 conductor black wire dangling on the right side [from driver's seat] of kioti, a black red and a yellow. It's two counter parts are near by under the right foot plate. Does polarity matter? The two male connections are both red. These two reds appear to emanate from a sensor possibly having to do w/the brakes. Tail lights maybe but that's just a guess.. The longest part of the wire comes out of the engine compartment near the fuel filter. Polarity is the main question. Does it matter?

Sensors are generally open, short or resistive devices, so likely no polarity there. Same for most lighting (LED excluded). What would be surprising is that two reds hook into a black and yellow. Doesn't follow convention.

Thanks Dennis, I can't be sure what the component is. I will look closer tomorrow as there could be more wires disconnected. It seemed odd to me too that there were two the same color coming from that area. I noticed my gas gauge isn't working a week or two ago or so, I was hoping that was a fuse.
I was driving over some 4 foot slash piles last week so I need to take a better look.

Are you a Neal Stephenson fan? Your forum name made me think of Zodiac. I laughed out loud every time I read duck squeezer in that book. It was his phrase for environmentalist. In the story the hero was one.

Never heard of him but then, these days I live in a bubble.
I used to tie flies and fish for trout.
Catch and release.
The name stuck because it is the only one on the Internet.

I was wondering if you were a fly guy....I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. My driftboat hasn't seen water in over a year.

Hey my friend, catch and release puts you in the right category. I stopped fishing it the 70's because I didn't like killing them or watching them die. Still in my idealist 20's then. That was in the sierras in California. To see them move thru the water, and hear that sound of its moving over the rocks is enough for me.

Neal Stephenson is a very good writer if you are into reading. He has a loooong trilogy takes place mostly in Europe in the 1600s. Everything… almost in this country, good or bad, is copied form there. It's amazing.

I live in a sort of bubble here too. It is of my own making. Having arrived here in 83 from a life as a rock musician in Malibu; rural N.M. is like another planet……. still. We sought and found solitude and seclusion and have made it ours. All that's missing from our version of paradise is the sound of that moving water. When it used to rain here I could hear it moving thru an arroyo a half mile away as the crow flies.

kindest regards,

Ron
