Looking for suggestions/advice/teaching on how to replace a relay which was included in this wiring kit purchased with my Tuff Lites.
Amazon.com: Tuff LED Universal Wiring Harness with Red LED Light Pilot Toggle Switch for Off Road LED Light Bars and LED Work Lamps , UTV, Truck, SUV, Side by Side, Polaris, Yamaha, Rzr Razor, Rigid, Ranger. HID Flood Lights, Golf Cart: Automotive
Apparently the relay has gotten wet or damaged in some way. One night after using the lights (following a lot of rain and humidity) we turned them off and they came back on within a few minutes but not full strength, just sort of glowing. So I flipped the switch on and they came on full strength. Flipped it off and they stayed off a few minutes then started glowing again. This time I simply pulled the wire which was connected to (+) of the battery. Now that daylight savings time has ended and the days are short I really need to get them working properly again. Figure it's the relay but not real sure. Oh, this happened about a month ago. Tried to reconnect the (+) this past weekend and there are NO lights now, neither lamp works (there are two fixtures on the relay.) I did leave it disconnected so it wouldn't draw down the battery unexpectedly.
So, I need to know if you think the relay has gone bad or if it might be something else.
Also, if it's the relay how/where to purchase a replacement. Not sure how I can order just a relay from Tuff Lights. I can get the old one off but I don't recall any markings on it. Will take a closer look next time I get outside.
Thanks,
Jeff
