Anyone know where I can pick up a wiring harness for a Euro 66 Ford 2000?

I found some made up on ebay, but the ones that came with diagrams stated that they wouldn't work on A or B serial numbered tractors.

Any explanations of why they won't work on Euro tractors or what mods would have to be made to get them to work?

Thanks for the help.

The US harness has different connectors and a different fuse box than the Eurpean models. You could use 81811306 or 81830069 (for front position headlights) harness. Both are for European model 2000, but after 68. They would be more compatible.

Ok. so if I am gathering this right, really the only difference is connectors and fuse box? Sounds as if volts/amps would be same. Theoretically i could switch the fuse box; harness; and maybe some connectors and it should work. Now this is where the newb and electrical moron in me come out; fuse box and relay are the same?

I believe you're already over your head here. I suggest you ask someone with a bit more electrical experience to look at it and perhaps provide some advise. Why do you feel the need for a new harness to begin with? In most cases, unless your existing harness is burnt to a crisp(or non existant), I think you would be better served to repair what you have, rather than try to locate a new unit that probably won't match exactly and require modification anyway. If you can describe the problem and explain the symptoms, someone here might be able to help.

Here is a link to diagrams in a thread on another forum:
The Fordson Tractor Pages Forum • View topic - 1000 Series wiring diagram

The big difference between tractors assembled in USA (serial starting with "C") and Europe (serial starting with "A" or "B") is the wiring for lighting. European tractors have side lights (day running lights) and headlights with low/high beam. That calls for a few more wires.
If the serial starts with an "A", your tractor is assembled in Antwerp, Belgium. This factory produced a variety of special tractors and the wiring on those may differ from the standard diagram.

I would follow Harry in Ky:s words. If you check the diagram you will find out that the wiring is pretty simple. If your aim is to restore the tractor to original, perhaps a pre-fabricated wiring harness is the answer. If you make your own solution, you can add fuses and relays to make safer and better electrical function.

If you still prefere a new wiring harness/loom, better buy from a European vendor.

Right. Not trying to trouble shoot anything. With this being a 46 year old tractor; wiring insulation gets old, cracked, and brittle; not to mention previous owners tend to just cut wires when something may or may not work that they don't want or think they need. Figured it would be easier to install a new harness one connection at a time (a one to one exchange).

Right now, tractor starts, fuel guage appears to work (haven't filled the tank completely but it does come off of empty when started), temp sensor appears to work (haven't seen it get hot but it does rise slightly when running), have no lights and no light switch (looking to install some but want them wired correctly). Tach does needs a cable, if that does not fix it, then I will look to install a new tachometer and wiring while i am doing that.

I did find a couple of UK companies on Ebay, but one said their harness did not accomodate lights. I didn't understand that, they said "sorry no, we just use twin cable its fine for that." What is twin cable? Do they mean they just run two wires up to each headlight from the switch?

Anyone got a copy of wiring diagram for a B serial number ford 2000?
