Electronic conversion for kohler?

Is there a electronic ignition conversion for a 241s kohler? Mine is a 76 model.

My expert source says there is no conversion for the models with an alternator and battery. Shame too. Put one on the 7hp engine on Mom's 33 year old Troy Bilt tiller and it starts on the first pull after sitting around for six or seven months..

If I'm wrong about this, someone give me a shout because I have that 241 engine too.

Hi Gents: this is an old thread, so maybe you have found a solution. Take a look at: Kirk Engines, Inc. >> Garden Tractor Performance Parts they have both a transistor system to protect the points and a full electronic system that eliminates points. Both allow use of the stock coil.
