Hello again gentlemen,
I thought I would update you all about eMax 25 HST and the PTO situation. (This was about five weeks ago, so my details are a little foggy.) The John Deere Lawn Tractor that I use to mow our church yard was out of commission, and my dad drove his eMax up to the church to mow the yard for me while I was at work. He mowed for about an hour and the mower deck either quit on him or he turned it off for a moment then tried to turn it back on and it would not start (I don't remember which was the case). The PTO light had come on again. From the time before (when the deck would not turn on) a 7.5 amp fuse needed to be replaced and this fixed the problem. This day he check the fuse and it had blown. He got another 7.5 amp fuse and replaced it. When he started the tractor and turned the deck on it would not start again. The new fuse was blown instantly. So he drove the tractor back to the house and called the dealership.
The dealership picked up and checked the tractor out and discovered that the some of the wiring had been rubbing against the PTO shaft and wore a spot on them. I did not actually see where the wires were rubbing against anything, so I can not give specific details about the matter. The dealership ordered a new wiring harness for our eMax. [Just a note: Our dealership had replaced the wiring harness on another customer's eMax tractor months before, but I am not sure if it was for the same reason or not.] Anyway while the tractor was at the dealership, my dad decided to trade our eMax in and get what he really wanted in the first place - a Max 26 (or the former Max 28 at the time - 2014).
We did find out that after our former eMax was fixed, that it found a new home. The dealer had sold the tractor in less than a week to fellow who had looked at eMax tractors before, and now was finally in a position to purchase one. He got a nice well taken care of, nice looking, and hopefully (now) trouble free machine.
