I have a 7 month old Emax22. Was shoveling dirt into the loader bucket (planting a tree) when I looked up and saw a crack (attached pics) in the bucket. The mount where the center hydraulic cylinder attaches to the loader bucket had a crack around the top of the weld. Tractor has only 41 hours and has only moved sand and dirt (we don't have rocks in the soil). It appears that the thin wall of the loader bucket flexes and has cracked the weld? I asked the dealer to submit a warranty claim. If they had extended the mount up to the edge of the bend in the bucket, it wouldn't have flexed and probably not broken the weld. Even if I get a new bucket, it may just break in a year or two when warranty runs out (1 year warranty on the loader). Anyone have this problem?

wow - that was one reason i went with the max series. had the 2 hydraulic units on both sides of bucket and not just one in the middle of it.

I am sorry to hear about your issue. hopefully a good dealer that will make sure mahindra does right for you.

Hello Barry,

My dad had an eMax 25 HST with a loader and 60" mid mount mower. He mostly shoveled snow in the winter time with his eMax. He did shovel and carry buckets full of sand and loose dirt from a dirt pile, he did not have any issues with the loader or bucket. BUT have seen this occur before on another person's eMax tractor. Our local dealer had a fellow who had this same thing happen to his loader bucket. They gave the guy a new bucket off of another eMax tractor sitting on the lot and ordered a replacement bucket for the one of the lot. I am not implying that you are hard on your machine, but if I remember correctly the guy who had the issue with his loader bucket was pretty hard on his machine. After talking to the salesman about it; he felt like the guy was trying to do things with his eMax that were meant more for a much larger tractor. A few months later I asked the sales man about this same customer and how his eMax tractor was doing - the salesman's response: It's in the shop again right now. It had been in the shop several times in just a few months time. The dealership was actually looking to see if the man had in fact been abusing his machine since it had been in the shop so many times (not necessarily due to build issues or problems with the machine's construction).

What I stated above may not be of any help to you, but I have seen it happen. I agree that the construction could be a little better on the eMax loader buckets.

I don't know it you could swap loaders out or just have somebody re-weld and re-enforce the bucket you currently have or replace it.

I will post this picture: I have seen a handful of eMax tractors (online) with a different front loader installed. It has twin dump and retract cylinders on it. I do not know if this will be on all new eMax tractors, or if Mahindra just has two different companies making loaders to keep up with tractor assembly production. But here is a look at it for you.

I had the same failure with my emax. I had the local weld shop fab up gusset brackets that wrap up around the top of the loader. When I had it to dealer for the fuel tank recall he stated that he could have gotten me a replacement bucket. He said the new buckets have the gusset plate that wraps up around the top of the loader bucket.

That looks like a hokey way to build a loader but easy to fix and easy to improve. I thought they were all pretty much skid steer mounts now. Since the EMax is a TYM machine, I'd suspect the loader was built by them. Mine was made by KMW but I don't know who builds what for which models. You need a program to keep up with all the players anymore.

Matt,
Do you have pictures of your design? As you can see in this picture, if Mahindra had simply extended the hydraulic cylinder mount up 3-4 inches to wrap over the top of the bucket like they did at the bottom, this whole problem would have been avoided.

Unless you change the cylinder and or it's mount at the other end your tip angles won't be the same due to simple geometry.

 ... Extremely poor design applying cyclic forces in the middle of flat sheet metal. Even with a little tractor it will fatigue in no time.
