I am a new owner of a TC29D with the NH loader. The baby arrived last week with the loader and 72" MM installed. I wanted to take the loader off to roll the yard...now I have problems.

When disconnecting the hoses I noticed the red hose (bucket dump) came off quite hard. I worked and worked and finally got it off.

I rolled my yard and wanted to hook the loader back up. That darn red one has me embarrassed. I must have had too much pressure in the line and that was why the hose came off hard. It will NOT go back on. I even tried pressing the ball at the end of the hose fitting to relieve pressure and it is stubbornly stuck.

Any suggestions on how to get this puppy hooked up again? Any other hose will go in the red coupler just fine, but the hose in question will not connect anywhere else.

Please hurry...the wife is asking me why I left the loader set in the driveway! :)

Don't be embarassed, I think everyone has done this at least once.

To prevent it, when you are taking off the FEL and have it off the tractor and on the ground with the engine turned off, move the loader control lever into every position. That takes the pressure off the lines. I move it through all positions two or three times for good measure.

The way I took pressure off my line when I had this problem was to put a rag over the end of the hose and tap it with a hammer. The rag keeps the fluid from hurting you if a stream of it hits your skin. The hammer is needed to overcome the pressure on the connector enough to let fluid be released.

Good Luck.

Let me ask you a question. Was there a drastic temperature change while the loader was off? I had this happen to me on my TC and I HAD already neutralilzed the system with the joy stick before removing it. If the loader was in the sun and it was cool when you removed it, the pressure can build from expansion of the fluid in the line due to thermal transfer. Normally not a huge increase, and not the kind of pressure that can penetrate the skin as it can from the pump in your tractor, but enough to prevent you from re-coupling. I used to lay a rag over the fitting on the front of the loader frame and crack it to bleed the pressure. That method allows YOU to have control over the release volume and capture the fluid in a drip pan as well.

MARK AND BAYRAT GAVE GOOD ADVISE: don't know why these things happen but just today i was greasing my tractor and fel(which i do religiously) and one fitting on fel would not take grease, did ok last greasing but not today. ended up taking fitting out and put gun on it , grease came right out, put it back i and it took grease fine. let us know how u made out.

Frank F15,

Do you drive or work on an an F15 in addition to your tractor? In the early '80 I worked security around the Eagles at Air Base Soesterberg. What a magnificent aircraft. I retired 5 years ago, and do miss the flightline.

I had the same problem on my snow plow. I took it off and left it in the sun for a while. When I went to put it back on, I could not push the quick connect fitting. It had too much pressure. I ended up having to take a wrench and crack open one of the hydraulic fitting until a drop or two of hydraulic oil seeped out of the threads. Then all was well. Now I park it in the shade. I also do the shut it off and wiggle the controls several times in all directions trick. This seems to work so far.

Thanks for everyone's advice. It saved me some face with my wife. I covered the hose with a rag, rapped the ball a couple times and connected back up. There was no temp change, I just had too much pressure in the lines when I disconnected.

This was my first post to the discussion group and I have to tell you that I am really impressed with the knowledge and advice shared. Consider me a long term member. Thanks again!

What surprises me about this incident is that I have never been able to remove the hoses unless I relieved the pressure first. That is what led me to believe a temp. change occured. By the way, it did happen to mine one time while sitting in the shade, the change in ambient air temperature over a few days was enough to do it. Glad things worked out.
