Well guys, not exactly a tractor story here, but you can appreciate it anyway.
Last week I went and bought my latest toy, an old Jeep CJ5. The day I got it, I immediatley carried it home and wanted to show it's capabilities off to the wife, so we went off in the middle of nowhere, far from my tractor, where I thought I'd show her how well this thing could climb hills and such. I decided to go up this embankment on the edge of an old logging road and immediately got stuck. I mean, I hadn't even been out 15 minutes and managed to try a hill so steep that the rear reciever hitch buried up in the dirt as I went up. After failing to go up, I put it in reverse and tried to back out which just made it worse by piercing the reciever hitch deeper into the roadway and actually bottoming out the spare tire thats mounted on the back.
No Shovel, No tractor, No neighbors, just me, the laughing wife and the jeep. After about 30 minutes of humiliation, some ruined clothes, and hard labor, I managed to dig a trench with a piece of wood I found and backed out of there. I guess I'll remember not to do that again!
Ya'll take care.
