Any one have an inground pool installed with porch enclosure.
Give me some pointers as I build my wifes dream home?

Screen rooms are very common down here in S FL. They are made out of aluminum extrusions that already have the channels for the splines to hold the screen. Most attach to the house on at least one side. I'm sure that you could look at pictures of houses with pools in S FL on a real estate website to get some ideas.

They have gotten pretty expensive down here because of wind load design requirements and material costs. I can't imagine trying to design an aluminum framed open structure that is connected with straps and screws and paneled with fiberglass screen that can withstand 150 mph winds!

I just had my 42' farmers porch screened with a system from Lowes. Plastic track is screwed to the framework/posts then screen is put up using the typical bead and roller system. A plastic cap then snaps to cover the track. Nice system, came out beautiful. It is permenant the way we installed it, but it could be built onto frames. It's cheap and easy.

Good luck.

Sounds great! the porch is 18' X 52' and the pool we are looking at for now is 15' X 15' Kidney shape by allagas.
Thanks.

If you do a google search on "Florida lanai" and search for images, you'll get lots - like this one! I rented a house in Florida for a couple of weeks and loved that you could walk out of the house, have the BBQ right there, and jump right in the pool :). Your local building codes may not allow that though - kids'-safety-wise! Good luck!

That is exactly what I was talking about. Thanks for posting a pic. I love them, but I don't want to be the guy that has to replace the screens on the top

How ever you decide to screen in the pool, remember that people are going to splash and a pool evaporates alot of water that is going to condense somewhere so you need alot of clearance above the pool to keep it from raining on you or rotting something or letting mildew grow.
