End of mowing season

So ... I was out there today watching the geese fly south in formation as I was mowing my yard. I'm thinking maybe a couple more cuts and that's it for this year. I'm in PA.

Anybody done for the season already? What's the latest you've cut?

I finished mowing when I got the tractor for my wife/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif She will probably cut
the grass one or two more times, but will mow leaves well into November.

I mowed last weekend and it looks like frost will be coming soon and the grass is done for the year. I'm in Northern Arizona at 6500 foot elevation.

Mowed the last time a month ago. The grass needs to prepare for all the snow to come.

Mowed over the weekend and expect to mow once, maybe twice more and be done for the year in early November. I'm in SE Michigan, so our weather is not unlike yours. I like to mow "tall" after we've cleaned up the leaves. Gives the yard a pretty good look for winter.

Yep, in Western Maryland, maybe one or two more mowings.

Now, on the other hand, time to get all of the leaves and get them into the compost pile. That will usual go on until the beginning of December.

I mowed yesterday. I'll have to mow in November for sure. I have mowed as late as December in a few spots where there's a certain kind of grass (I don't know what kind), but it's cooling off quicker this year, so I'll probably be done in November.

Mowed about 1.5 weeks ago thinking that was it for this year... then we got about 4 days of pretty heavy rain. Will need to mow at least once more now /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif. Might also use the mower to mulch up the leaves which should all fall in the next 2-3 weeks.

I always have to mow until the middle of November, and sometimes into December, and start again no later than early March./w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif
