Engagement/Disengagement of differential lock Satoh 650g

Im wondering if anybody can inform me as to the proper function of the rear differential lock function? Is it press down and hold to engage differential lock and release to disengage or press once to engage and once again to disengage?

New stuff is usually press and hold. Older stuff was in or out.

All of the Mitsubishi related (Satoh) tractors I've owned were push and hold. You always want to have the machine stopped before engaging.

You can engage the differential lock on the fly by just pressing the pedal. Hold the pedal down if you want to be sure it stays engaged otherwise it will disengage automatically when the gears go a little slack.

Yep, that's how I do it but I do engage at slow speed only. It kinda just pops in.

Thanks all for the good info. I trialled the mechanism recently and it appears you can engage on fly and yes it just pops out when gears go slack. Thanks again
