I was digging a ditch using the loader on my TC45 and when I got down about 3 feet or so, the engine would cut out. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gifVery similar to when you lift your butt off the seat while in operation. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif My friend suggested there might be a switch that activates when the engine is over a certain degree tilt, due to engine oil pump requirements???????

Any ideas??? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

You may be lifting enough off the seat to trip the seat switch. The switch is towards the back of the seat and if you're nose down, your weight is towards the front. Try temporarily jumping out the switch and see if the problem is fixed.

The usual suspects on "cutting out" (sudden stoppage of the engine and no further cranking with turning the ignition key) include:

1. Branches reaching and grabbing safety switch wires under the carriage (e.g. PTO switch, Brake Switch, etc).
2. If the PTO light is on despite the lever being off, you're probably blown fuse #2 behind the instrument panel.
3. The seat rolls backward onto springs to activate the seat switch - if you're really on an incline you may not be activating the switch completely.

Persistant cranking without engine starting is a fuel delivery problem such as low fuel and plugged fuel filters. Even in Canada it isn't cold enough for gelled fuel. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

No tilting safety/cutout switches.
