You might not want to flush . may stir up some bad stuff and get stuck in the oil drain holes. Just get all the oil/fluids hot & dump them

yeah dont use flushes on old units, creates more problems than it solves.

I've used Amsoil engine flush on all my tractors so far. Worked great and no problems at all.

Thats why the guys said "could" not WILL cause problems. There is nothing sayig it will positively clog up but you never know. A good modern detergent oil will clean out an engine well after several changes. Getting it good and hot after say a hard working will get a lot of floaties out.

Once a year is not bad for oil in a seldom used tractor, id say most of us do that. But the other is kind of worry some. Especially the hydraulics. Tons of people never change thier coolant unless there is a leak or replace a part so i can see that. And a ton of folks hardly change hydro fluuid. A guy i work with is on the JD service schedule for his tractor. You know where it says like 400 or 500 hours till change hydro fluid! Thats maybe fine in a more modern tractor that is tight and has better covers over things but he has an old 70's era JD that he leaves outside! There is no way id leave that thing that long. He mows grass with it and tills his garden a few times a year. So im guessing he may put 100hrs a year on it? so it will take him 5 years!

Like others said just warm the engine and then drain the oil while hot, to clean I generally use Seafoam, add the recommended amount to your oil reservoir and work the tractor a bit then drain. I only do this before an oil change, don't think you should run Seafoam in the oil at all times, but you can run it in your diesel fuel at all times.

There is likely a screen for your hydraulic fluid, so once you drain be sure to take that out and clean it, its a wire screen that's washable. I would avoid a tranny/hydro flush, just replace fluid every 500 hours making sure you use tran/hydro fluid jd 303 spec, not just trans fluid.

Although some are useing dextron/mecron fluid with good results. But they seem to have colder weather though is the reason they do it.
