Hey guys need to pick your brain, my 07 4500 is not responding to throttle, when cold it seems to be fine, after about 15 - 20 running it starts cutting out and puffing smoke then after a few minutes it just won't respond when you step on the throttle, but idols fine, I just replace both fuel filters Friday when it first did this, it had run maybe 30 minutes with the new filters before doing it again, any help appreciated

Check flow from tank. You've got a fuel delivery problem somewhere. Maybe tank vent plugged. Take the cap off and see if it makes a difference.

I'll give it a try, it was running good and normal when it all started, the old filters were dirty

It’s common that the bottom of the tank right where the fuel leaves the tank can get plugged. Shine a light down at the bottom when the cap is off. I agree it sounds like a fuel starvation issue.

I actually thought about that a little earlier, I'm go to drain the tank in the morning and pull that screen out and look at it and clean it, thank you for replies, I know we can always count on the tbn folks help

& don't forget.. rubber fuel lines can/will collapse internally.. choking off the fuel..
They will allow enough fuel to be delivered for idle.. but when more fuel is required/needed, it just cant pass..
Heres hopeing its just a clogged screen..

Oh I know that one, me and the parts guy went through about 4 lines last time trying to get the correct one, so I hope it's ok since this one is only 4 or 5 years old

I had a 4025 and it would work fine until it got warmed up good. Then it would lose power and blow white smoke. I thought water was in fuel so I changed filters and didn稚 find any water. I took it to dealership, they found a small crack in the fuel line around injectors. The crack would expand when hot and suck air. They replaced all under warranty. Not sure if this is what youæ±*e experiencing.

That's about what it's doing, it'll run fine when it's cold, after working it for about 15 minutes or so it'll start puffing white smoke for a few minutes and then does not respond at all when I step on the throttle, it's like the throttle is not even hooked up

Sounds more and more lime a tank vent issue. Runs fine until it pulls a vacuum on the tank and stops flow.

BTW, my perm fix for fuel lines was to have the local hydraulic shop replace the braided rubber with braided Teflon. Used the same ends with new farules. Just a couple bucks more than stock replacements.
