I have an EZ-GO Workhorse 1200 that came from a golf driving range. It has the protective cage and a mount for a ball pickup unit on the front. All that is beside the point. I am sure that it was abused by the youngsters that operated it. It fouls plugs badly and oil pressure is low plus leaking oil.

I would like to rebuild the engine but the manual I have shows engine R & R but nothing else. I would like to find info on engine repair and a source for parts.

Anybody have any experience on repairing these engines and/or a parts source.

I have a lot of experience in rebuilding engines and the tools so that part is not a problem.

Vernon, is the engine an Onan? I have a Jacobsen 3-wheel utility cart that is really an EZ-Go and a pressure washer, both with Onan engines. One is 16 hp and the other is 18 hp. I have a manual for those engines and might be able to look something up if your UTV has a similar engine.

On my 3-wheel utilty vehicle, it had a PCV system that vented into the breather intake. It would draw so much oil out of the engine that it fouled plugs all the time. I removed the hose from the breather and dropped it into a 1-qt oil can attached to the frame. Any blowby oil just drips into the can instead of getting sucked into the carburetor. Problem solved. . .no more fouled plugs.

I don't believe that it is an Onan. It is 350 c.c. 11 hp twin in a 2002 model. I will look at the breather system as that is a possibility. It does dump a lot of oil outside the engine.

Thanks

i might not have been misused to much being it was used on and around golf course. so they can't really cut up on the grass and they really wouldn't be able to drive crazy with it because they might hit someone. it was probably babied and thats what tore it up . sometimes just running a engine at slow rpm's all the time will do just as much damage as running it wide open. it might be fouling the plugs because ot clogged jets and running lean. they probably never gave it full throttle to reall run gas through the carb the way it should. the oil leak can happen to any motor at anytime. there probably ain't a whole lot wrong with it. take the serial numer and model number off and pop it into the search engine on your web brouser and you should find out all you need to know on it.
