I have a Craftsman rear tine tiller that has been sitting for years....everything is fine on it...except the engine...I can buy a replacement engine from Harbor Freight with a coupon for $99.00 instead of rebuilding the carb and no telling what else on the old engine....

Here's my question...the picture Harbor is showing on the new engine has the recoil starter on the left side of the new engine...on the existing engine the recoil starter in on the right side of the tiller ( facing the tiller ) Is this just a photo reproduction error or do they have engines with the recoil starter on either side ?

Thanks\\ Here is the new engine...6.5 HP (212cc) OHV Horizontal Shaft Gas Engine

I think what is throwing you off is the starter rope is on the top of the recoil starter where most are on the bottom. the recoil is turned 180 from what most engines are. the engine still turns the same direction, and you can probably remove and rotate the starter if you need to.
