After the initial startup cycle ( glow plug indicator out ignition on ) can tractor be started without going thru glow plug warm up procedure ? I accidentally turned key all the way to right and tractor started fine. Don`t want to do any damage to glow plugs or engine.;)

no worries. what you did was fine. once my engine is warm a never pre-heat upon re-start. the pre-heat is mainly to save battery and starter life making the engine quicker to start with less cranking. however, on cold first time starts it's always good to pre-heat via the glow plug light. but more important than pre-heat (I think) is allowing your engine to sufficiently warm up (about 5-10 mins) before making it work too hard.

I believe that motor has a heating element in the intake manifold- no glow plugs. The only reason they ask you to wait is to allow the little element to warm up- which warms combustion air and makes starting easier. During this time of year I don't wait at all most of the time. However, when it gets chili out letting the element warm makes for much easier starting.
Most newer vehicles, when cold, take the RPMs up slightly to increase oil pressure. The Mahindra doesn't seem to do this. Out of habit I do that manually once the machine has started. The higher RPMs boost the oil pressure which helps if the oil is thicker/cold.

I don't know if this is accurate, but on one of the threads there was a comment that a dealer said you need to let the light go out because that is also an indication that the computer has booted up. I have been doing that, but I always think it is kind of silly.

Warm days I do not wait, just wait for the gauges to cycle then I start it. If it is cold out and the engine is warm I wait for the glow plugs/heater grid to fully cycle - if the engine is at full temp and it is cold out I fire it right up, but this is only if it has been sitting for less than 5 minutes turned off.

It does seem silly, the tractors computer is ready once the gauges cycle.
