equipment to livestock trailer

like most rural peeps im going to be needing a livestock trailer in the near future (hauling alpacas)

but i dont want to have to own like 5 different trailers.

Ive seen add on cages for flatbed trailers before, but cant seem to find any commercial products out there.

anyone have one?
anyone looked at a commercially built one?
anyone made there own?

I saw something like that recently while look at trailers on the 'net. The pipe frame came off and you could use it as a utility trailer? It might have been on the gooseneck website but I couldn't find it on there again when I looked for a link for you. Good luck fnding it but I think it's out there somewhere.

I saw, when i drove by the cimmaron dealer, a sheep box that goes in a pickup. They might be able to make a taller one for ya. It looks just like a stock trailer w/o the axle.

A rough estimate is that if I built a 1/2" plywood shell 8'x8'x16' it would weigh about 800 lb.

Check with the farm equipment dealers in your area, also trailer dealers, they may be able to order something like that. I have an old car hauler that obviously had an enclosure added to it.

How about some 1 1/2" square tubing and some heavy wire livestock panels? You could build your frame from the tubing and weld the panels to that. You could put a single or double doors at the end and an escape door on the side towards the front. With the price of metal it may or may not be price feasable.
