I have a b7800 kubota 30HP diesel, I am wondering if any one as some experience with a simular tractor using a sickle bar cutter, combine, or square baler.
Details that came with the tractor does not enlighten you much. I need to commence cutting hay, and bailing it so all help will be appreciated. I do not have the above equipment so will attempt to buy used soon.

Forget the baler, your tractor is too small, more so physically as well as hp. Hire that done.

You can cut & rake the hay.

No combine needed.

I have a 2910. Same tractor as yours with more features. Having done some haying a few years ago. I would not attempt to do any haying with it. The tractor is not large enough. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
There are some smaller 3ph mowers that will fit you tractor. Befco makes a 6’ model. New it is over $3,000. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
You may be able to find a local farmer that will do haying for you. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

There are "mini" balers that you can use with your equipment.

The following link is for a mini round baler manufacturer. There are also mini square balers. I've looked into this a little as I live in an active "gentrified" horse area. Sometimes the market for smaller bales can be better (i.e., more lucrative) than for regular to larger size bales. But, it tends only to be the case where there the horsey set is pretty large and prosperous.

Hope this helps.

CCM has a NEW drum mower for $1,800 that is designed specifically for compact tractors.

Your tractor is really too small to use a regular square baler. You can use a drum mower like CCI showed to mow but it will take a long time to do. How much ground do you have to do? These small tractors really don't take much if you overload them to cause a wreck.

If you are really serious about haying buy yourself an older utility tractor. You can get some great old tractors in the $3-5k range that will do the job you are wanting to do. Then you can buy a good baler and mower conditioner.

Use the smaller tractor for raking and misc. hay duties.

Sewells - that Agronic Mini Round bailer looks pretty trick. Any idea what it runs? Anyone have any experience with this unit? Is there a US distributor? Have I asked enough questions? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

CCI - How does the drum mower work? Or should I say - how does it function? What does it do? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

This is a picture of the larger T-165 mower and it's work that was done. The T-135 will mow 3-5 acres and hour. This is perfect for the small farmer. The drum mower will mow any crop even if it blown down and wet. The mower has 6 blades that travel at 150 mph and shear the grass just as the larger disc mowers do. For the money you will not find any mower that is more durable and can do the things this drum mower will do.

No more real information on the unit. It did look pretty good to me but I discarded the idea of getting into the hay business. It seemed like entirely like "mucho trabajo para poco plata" (i.e., a lot of work for too little money) to me. There are already a lot of people around my area in the fescue/orchard grass combo hay business. To make an entry into the market I would have needed to lease land and then convert it to another type of grass (timothy or something maybe). With the endophyte problem we have with fescue there is a viable market for non-infected hay for pregnant/ lactating mares but it just looked like I could make a lot more money by sticking to the software development game than by getting into the hay business.

Sorry I can't be of more help.
